The Makhzoumi Foundation has acquired as of 2004 the ISO 9001:2000 registration certificate.
The objective of ISO certification is to introduce a Quality Management System that meets ISO 9001:2000 requirements as a mean to organize and improve processes through Quality Management techniques, aiming primarily at enhancing customer satisfaction (in the Foundation case, customers are the beneficiaries).
The system provides a framework consisting of a range of processes, such as customer related processes, purchasing, monitoring and measurement, planning training management review, as well as requirements for continuous improvement and monitoring of the system, rather than creating bureaucratic procedures and applying them slavishly.
The advantages of introducing the system include the following:
- It facilitates and improves efficiency, which can make the organization more cost effective.
- It encourages best practices and cross fertilization of ideas across the organization.
- It improves beneficiaries' perception of the organization’s image, culture and performance by showing the organization’s commitment to quality.
- It involves the whole workforce and subsequently improves communication, morale and job satisfaction.
- It helps continuous improvement through regular internal audits and subsequent corrective actions.
T & A Consulting assisted the Foundation in preparing for the certification.
