AGRICULTURE / ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM

The Program's aim is to preserve and care for the Environment, the Sustainable Agriculture and the Management of Natural Resources in a way which ensures that their benefits are also available for the future. This program includes several activities and projects with a view to the protection, preservation and improvement of the environment and the agricultural sector in the country.

The Agro-Forestry Development Project

This project aims at combating desertification and introducing new technologies in agriculture as well as new methods in Environmental Education. It includes a main nursery in Akkar / Northern Lebanon, which produces trees and plants that are offered to municipalities, local NGOs, and communities countrywide.

Basic Bee-keeping Skills Training for Women Project

This project, aiming at providing opportunities for women to generate income, was implemented in Akkar, South Lebanon and Bekaa targeting 240 ladies in more than 25 villages.

Paper Recycling Unit:

office paper wastes at the Foundation are shredded and recycled. Cards and calendars are then made out of them and demonstrations are held for kids during related activities.

In addition, several environmental activities are carried-out: Tree Planting, Seed Collection, Environmental Education workshops at schools etc.
