Attending the Green Line Conference
 
Makhzoumi Foundation, represented by Eng. Sallama Namani, the Awareness and Agriculture/Environment Programs Manager, and Eng. Nidal Al-Hashem, the projects’ coordinator, attended the press conference held by the Green Line Association, at the Crown Plaza Hotel - Hamra, on June 11, 2010. The conference launched three publications on: green space, renewable energy and public maritime properties.
The conference included three words for: the researcher Fadi Xia, who focused on the benefits of green open public spaces and their importance, and the role of the public sector and civil society organizations in launching cultural policies to promote and protect green areas; Dr. Adel Mourtada spoke about the renewable energy in Lebanon linking it to the energy sector in general, pointing out the state policies to that regard, and offering practical proposals and an  interim plan that contribute to enhance usage of the renewable energy and to stimulate economic growth. The last word in the press conference was for Eng. Hala Ashour who spoke about the maritime properties status and the related legislations; she also presented a number of suggestions and demands in the framework of protecting the privacy of public maritime properties, under the charge of the state.
