Organizing a Training Session on "Home Hazards"
The Awareness Program at Makhzoumi Foundation organized, in collaboration with "The Lebanese Assembly for Safety and Emergency" (SAFER), a training session on prevention of home accidents, on June 21, 2010, at the Development Services Center in Hay Al Sulloum, which is subsidiary to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Dr. Gibran Qarnaouni, the President of the "Lebanese Assembly for Safety and Emergency” and the holder of a doctorate in emergency cases and first aid, gave a lecture at the session. He presented and discussed with the participants potential home hazards and ways of prevention and treatment if the accident occurred, whether caused by sharp tools, electricity, fire, fall and slide or by a wrong movement.
Nineteen women attended the session showing great interest in discussing the topics raised in it. The participants expressed their appreciation to Makhzoumi Foundation and Dr. Qarnaouni, and thanked them for their outstanding efforts, wishing that more sessions would be held on first aid, health education, crafts and others.
At the end of the session, flyers on smoking hazards in addition to environmental flyers were distributed to the participants who also received certificates of attendance from the Makhzoumi Foundation and SAFER together.
